Things to do when Instagram and Facebook are Down

March 13, 2019 by thiscoolmom 1 Comment

Welp, today is one of those days that we fear. Not only is Instagram down, but Facebook is not working either. To some, this is not major news. To the lucky non-social media obsessed folks, I am jealous of you today. Unfortunately for me, this is a major problem. I admit that FB and the gram take up wayyy to much of my time. If you are reading this post, you are probably guilty as well. Whatever. My name is Jaime and I am addicted to Social media.

Now these apps update every now and then, so I understand that there could be 30 minutes or so when I can’t have access. I am pretty sure we are going on six hours now and I am losing my mind. I miss sending memes to my peeps and looking at pictures of people I don’t know in real life. My boredom is causing me to think of new things to do. I thought I would share with all of you.

  1. Immediately check twitter to see status of said social media outages.
  2. If you work….well, do your job and stop messing around online.
  3. Listen to a podcast. I am currently listening to one about murderer Jodi Arrias…wow.
  4. Pay some bills.
  5. Make a healthy snack- I have been obsessed with mixed berries and vanilla almond butter.
  6. Call a friend and talk! (This is rare for me so I understand if you wanna opt out)
  7. Write a blog post or write in your journal.
  8. Engage in conversation with someone who you are near. (I am at lacrosse practice and clearly not socializing at the moment)
  9. Check Daily Mail for celeb gossip. Megan Markle is officially on maternity leave!!
  10. Google and learn more about potential presidential candidates.
  11. Research vacation destinations.
  12. Wash your hair, sis!
  13. Get a mani or pedi. God I need them so bad.
  14. Clean your house without interruption (lol yeah right)
  15. Help your kids with their homework instead of watching IG stories.
  16. Shop online- don’t forget to buy your kids Easter outfits or get stuff for baskets! I am the worst procrastinator with this!
  17. Listen to some new music. I am liking the new Maren Morris album.
  18. Eat some ice cream, because why not? I love all things chocolate.
  19. Watch your kid practice and listen to her complain the whole time that she is tired 🙄
  20. Think about how you will go home after practice and drink a huge glass of wine.
  21. Check IG and FB every 5 minutes until it’s back up, then when it is, indulge and make up for all of the lost liking and commenting.

I made it through writing this without checking the status of FB or IG. This is major. Hope I could give you something to do/read, even if it is in the form of a mom blog post.

Oh. And I just realized that the ten people who read my blog usually get notified via Social Media, so it is useless lol.

Cheers!

Thanks for visiting my blog, which is a work in progress. I'm a (cool) mom & wife with a full time job, trying to balance it all. My interests include Pinot Grigio, Netflix, blogging, fashion, the treadmill & reading celeb gossip when I am not busy packing lunches & wiping butts. Cheers!
